Configuring taxes (North America) [NB]

In many areas of the Back Office your tax is automatically calculated, such as for products.

  1. On the left panel of the Back Office left panel click Settings and from Payment Settings choose Taxes.

AUTOMATIC TAX RATE (US and Canada only)

Canada

  1. Click Change country selection to select a country. 



  2. From the list of countries select Canada.
  3. The country is added to your automatically calculated tax rates. Click Edit to view the tax per province. 

United States

  1. Click Change country selection to select a country. 



  2. From the list of countries select United States
  3. The country is added to your automatically calculated tax rates.



  4. Click Edit to add tax per state. 
  5. Click Add a location.



  6. In the Name box, give your location a name such as Warehouse or Main Store, and enter the address. If you have only an online store, enter the address where you are located, such as your home or warehouse address. 



  7. Repeat these steps for every location that's in a different state. If you have multiple locations in one state, you only need to enter one.

To manually add tax rates

If you are located outside of Canada or the United States, we advise you to add your tax rate manually.

  1. You can edit the existing option or add a new one by clicking Add a tax rate
  2. In the pop-up window enter a name for the VAT or tax rate in the Title field, for example 21% VAT or 5% tax.



  3. Enter the applicable VAT or tax rate in the Tax field. For example, if you want to specify a VAT rate of 21%, enter a value of 21 here.
  4. If the country has a regional tax, click Edit and add a regional tax.
  5. Select a country and a region and add a Tax name, Tax rate and Tax type



  6. Click Save to add the regional tax and repeat these steps for every region.
