PayPal Express Checkout configuration
In order to use PayPal Express Checkout, you will need a special account. If you already have an account, then you will have to configure a number of options through the SEOshop back office. Navigate to GENERAL > Settings > Checkout & Payment methods > PayPal Express in the left menu. Here you will see the following options:
- Mode - Set the mode to Live when you want to enable your customers to pay using PayPal Express.
- E-mail - Enter the email address you use to login to your PayPal Express account here.
- API Username, Password & Signature – These are codes created by Paypal. API data can be found by logging in to your PayPal account. Navigate to Profile, Sales Preferences and click Update next to API Access.
How does it work?
Using PayPal Express Checkout, customers can complete purchases in just a few steps. They are able to conclude transactions with shipping and invoice data stored with PayPal, so they do not have to enter these data again in your online store.
After customers have selected (a) product(s), they click the Buy with Paypal button, which will become available after you have activated PayPal in the back office. Customers will subsequently be taken to the PayPal website, where they have to login with their account. Here they will have they opportunity to modify data, such as the payment method and the shipping and invoice address, if so desired. After this, they will be redirected to your online store to complete the purchase. Now they only have to accept your general Terms and Conditions and place their order (step four in the checkout process).
